Abstract:Objective: To explore the application effect of chain management in the treatment expectations of patients with postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). Methods: By using the convenience sampling method, 48 patients with PHN who were hospitalized in the Pain Department of a tertiary grade A hospital in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province from April to July 2024 were selected as the intervention group, and chain management was adopted for intervention; 48 patients admitted from September 2023 to December 2024 were selected as the control group, and conventional methods were used for intervention. The scores of treatment expectation, disease cognition, anxiety and depression, pain level and satisfaction after discharge were compared before and after discharge. Results: During the intervention period, 3 cases dropped out. Finally, 47 cases were included in the intervention group and 46 cases in the control group. After the intervention, the satisfaction rate of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05); the expectations for treatment, anxiety, depression, pain degree and disease cognition were lower than those of the control group (all P < 0.05).Conclusion: Chain management can help to reduce the treatment expectations of patients with postherpetic neuralgia, improve satisfaction and disease awareness, improve anxiety and depression, and reduce pain.
