Abstract:Zoster-associated pain is one of the most common neuropathic pains in clinical practice, and such pain often seriously affects people's daily lives. The existing research reports on this disease are mainly concentrated on its pathogenesis and treatment methods, but due to the complex and intertwined mechanisms, there is currently no sufficient evidence chain for the priority treatment schemes in different stages of the disease, especially in the post-herpetic neuralgia stage, where the treatment effect is often not up to expectations. Therefore, in the future, we should focus on drug development targeting the mechanism and prevention and treatment of complications. This article will summarize and update the current literature on the mechanisms and treatment of herpes zoster-related pain to provide new ideas for clinical treatment.
