Abstract:To alleviate postoperative pain, expedite the recovery process for women after surgery, and ensure the well-being of infants, the postoperative analgesia program for cesarean sections is continuously being enhanced. Multimodal analgesia serves as a crucial component of Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean section (ERAC), necessitating its successful implementation. In efforts to minimize opioid-related adverse effects, the utilization of non-opioid medications and nerve blocks has progressively increased, leading to gradual improvements in multimodal analgesia protocols. Nonetheless, the approach of multimodal analgesia following cesarean sections remains a topic of debate, lacking a definitive optimal strategy. This article endeavors to outline the existing multimodal analgesia protocols applied post-cesarean section while offering insights for future advancements in this area.
