Abstract:Objective: to investigate the effect of short-term spinal cord electrical stimulation combined with Lidocaine Gel paste in the treatment of postherpetic Neuralgia. METHODS: 60 patients with postherpetic NEURALGIA from October 2019 to December 2020 were randomly divided into two groups. Observation Group (N=30). The control group was treated with short-term electrical stimulation of the spinal cord combined with Blank Gel Patch for 90 days (N=30), the Control Group was treated with Blank Gel Patch for 90 days (N=30) after short-term spinal cord electrical stimulation, and both groups were treated with oral pregabalin. Patients were followed up 1,3,7,30 and 90 days after STSS. Pain relief, sleep quality index and adverse reactions were collected at each follow-up. Results: On the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 30th and 90th day after treatment, the improvement of pain in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: short-term spinal cord electrical stimulation combined with Lidocaine Gel Patch is effective in the treatment of postherpetic Neuralgia. The total effective rate is high and the clinical symptoms are obviously improved, the way of combined therapy is worth popularizing and using in clinic.
