Abstract:Pain medicine is a clinical interdisciplinary for acute and chronic pain management, and pain medicine department is a primary clinical unit in health care system. The standardized training system for pain medicine has not well established yet in China. It was elaborated in this article about the implementation of a pilot standardized pain medicine fellowship training program, based on needs assessment of the relevant affiliated and teaching hospitals in Peking University Health Science Center. The guidelines for training and assessment were constituted with extensive discussion before implementation. It was intended to draw on experiences to build up the standardized pain medicine training system in future.
