Abstract:The μ opioid receptor MOR is mainly responsible for the analgesic effect of opioids, and its signal transduction mechanism has been systematically elucidated. This review systematically organizes the documents in recent years, and introduces the complete signal transduction process of μ opioid receptor MOR production and various proteins that regulate its signal transduction. The latest known knowledge about the μ opioid receptor gene OPRM1 splice variants, ion channels, peripheral opioid peptide and crystal structure affecting function of μ opioid receptor MOR is summarized to explore the application and clinical value of opioids in the treatment of pain in this review.
