Abstract:The prevalence of cervical facet pain, within a population suffering from neck pain, is estimated to be 50%. With the advance of relevant researches, pharmacological treatments combined with minimal invasive interventional managements can provide definite pain relief and improve life quality significantly. Recently, the common use of minimal invasive interventional procedures includes intra-articular injection, cervical medial branch block and radiofrequency thermocoagulation. With the increasing application of ultrasound in the field of pain, ultrasonography has its unique values in the management of cervical facet pain. To some extent, the accuracy and safety and efficiency of ultrasound in this field have been verified. This article reviews the advances in the management of cervical facet pain and focuses on the clinical values of ultrasonography in this field.
