Abstract:To observe effect of antiviral therapy combined with analgesic for the treatment of herpes zoster pain. Methods: Sixty persons suffering from herpes zoster were randomly divided into 3 groups: intradermal injection with antiviral therapy group(group A), intercostal nerve block group with antiviral therapy (group B), and simply antiviral therapy (group C). To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy, visual simulation score(VAS)and quality of sleep(QS) were used. Results: After treatment, the scores of VAS and QS in group A and B were lower than before (P<0.01);but group C was not significantly improved until two weeks after treatment. Conclusion: The clinical effect of local intradermal injection or intercostal nerve block combined with antiviral therapy is evident on relief of herpes zoster pain and improvement of sleep quality.
