Abstract:Objective:To study the effect and safety of radiofrequency thermocoagulation using four methods positioning in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia. Methods: 29 cases were involved in this study, who were first positioned by signs and symptoms,anatomy,X-ray fluoroscopy and electric stimulation, then were treated with radiofrequency thermocoagulation under general anesthesia with propofol. Results: The post-operative successful rate was 100%.The immediate pain relief rate was 100%.The relapse rate was 0 after one to five months of follow-up.One case had complications of keratitis(3.4%).Conclusion:Radiofrequency thermocoagulation with four methods positioning under general anesthesia with propofol for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia is a simple, safety, convenient and effective method.
