Abstract:Objective:To investigate the preventative and therapeutic effects of Flunarizine and /or Amitriptyline on migraine.Methods:This study used SDS and SAS to evaluate the degree of depression and anxiety in migraineurs;the migraineurs who score above 40 were employed and randomly divided into three groups:group A(Flunarizine plus Amitriptyline together),B(Flunarizine)and C(Amitriptyline),then compared the effect with each other.Results:The percentage of migraineurs with depression were and anxiety 69.8% and 53.54% respectively.After 30 days of treatment,the SAS and SDS significantly decreased in group A(P<0.05),but not in group B and C(P>0.05).There were significant improvement in the frequency and duration of headache,and influence on the life quality in group A and B(P<0.05),but not in group C(P>0.05).As a whole,the effect of Flunarizine plus Amitriptyline was most evident among all the three groups;Amitriptylinalong had no effect on relieving headache.Conclusion: Using Flunarizine and Amitriptyline together to prevent and treat migraine is an effective method;furthermore,it also helps relieve emotional disorder accompanying migraine.
