Abstract:Objective:To explore the relationship of the therapeutic effect of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion treated by epidural injection and the morphological localization of the protrusive disc. Methods:Fifty-six cases with single segment lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion were classified according to morphological localization showed by CT or MRI. They were all treated by epidural injection. The relationship between the clinical therapeutic effect and morphological localization was analyzed. Results:After 17 months' follow-up, the rate of excellent and good results were up to 89.3%. The excellent and good results rate located in area A were 95%. Conclusion: Epidural injection is an effective method for lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion. Correct localization and classification cording to image data are the keys to get satisfactory results.
