Abstract:The results of the present study showed that the morphine withdrawal syndromes were agravated by intracerebroventricular(icv)injection of exogenous cAMP and its derivative dbcAMP dose dependently in rats.Theophylline or imidazole,as an inhibitor or an activator of phosphodiesterase(PDE)was injected icv to increase or decrease the endogenous level of cAMP in rat brain. The morphine withdrawal syndromes were significantly augmented by theophyline, but apparently relieved by imidazole. The results of our study may be useful to select new therapeutic medicine for morphine withdrawal syndromes.
