Abstract:We measured the immunological function before and after stellate ganglion block of 14 potients with chronic pain. Venous blood was taken tO measure ten indices including L. T. T, ANAE, IgA, IgG,IgM, IgD, complement C3, C4, BF and IC before and after ten times of S. G. B. treatment. These indices rised significantly in various degrees. In 4 patients with nervous headache, the immue function was low before therapy and returned to normal level after treatment. It is suggested that S. G. B could improve the body's cellular and humoral immue function. Since clinical data suggested a positive correlation between the severity of symptoms and the change of immue function, the measurement of immue function can be considered as one of the objective indices for appraising clinical results and patient's conditions.
