Abstract:

Substance P(SP)has been considered as an importment mediator for Pain signaling.The development of non-peptide antagonist of substance P(NK-1)receptor heralded anovel era in the research of substance P(SP)and its receptor.Study on the interaction be tween SP(NK-1)receptor and non-peptide antagonists using molecular biological apporachhas revealed that species variation of NK-1 receptor in mammlia belongs to two species variants of the same receptor type rather than two different sub-types of NK-1 receptor. Thepharmacological implication of these findings is discussed.
