Abstract:This paper reports 8 patients with the hip joint pain of avascular necrosis of femoral head.They were treated with silver needle therapy, and satisfactory results were obtained.Concerning the pathogenesis,ot the disease, the author considered the following three factors to be of prime importance: the feature of vascular anatomy in the hip, the mechanical elements and the blood flow dynamics, It was suggested that hip pain was related with soft tissue lesion and muscle contracture. The silver needle treatment is capable of relieving muscle spasm, suppressing pain and improving blood flow,thereby achieving a good therapeutic effect.
